Job Summary :
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in our patient-centered practice. This position requires a highly motivated and compassionate individual with excellent clinical skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for working with children. Spanish language proficiency is strongly desired, almost a must-have.
Responsibilities : Patient Care :
- Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for examinations.
- Taking and documenting vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, weight, height).
- Obtaining and documenting patient history, including chief complaint, allergies, and medications.
- Administering immunizations and medications (as delegated and permitted by licensure / certification).
- Assisting providers with procedures and exams.
- Collecting and processing specimens (urine, blood, etc.).
- Performing CLIA-waived testing.
- Providing patient education and instructions.
- Managing and stocking exam rooms.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Administrative Tasks :
Answering phones and scheduling appointments.Managing patient charts and electronic health records (EHR).Processing referrals and prior authorizations.Managing inventory of medical supplies.Performing other clerical duties as assigned.Communication & Teamwork :
Communicating effectively with patients, parents, and staff.Working collaboratively with the healthcare team.Maintaining a positive and professional attitude.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a Medical Assistant program and certification (CMA or RMA) preferred.Experience working in a pediatric setting is highly desirable.Fluency in Spanish (spoken) is strongly desired, almost a must-have.Current CPR certification.Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.A genuine passion for working with children and their families.Benefits :
