The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC) is a grassroots community development corporation anchored in 47 years of community organizing and resident leadership. The RAM / WP (Resident Advocacy, Mobility, and Wellness Program) helps residents of JPNDC properties build income, assets, and financial capability through individualized coaching, referrals, and resource navigation. RAM / WP Mobility Mentors play an essential role in enabling tenant families to achieve meaningful and measurable progress toward the goals that residents set for themselves.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit program participants through various methods, including group presentations, flyering, door knocking and networkingProvide services in office, virtually, or at our satellite offices located in JPNDC properties.Work with each participant to complete an Individual Training and Services Plan and a Contract of ParticipationHelp participants set and achieve goals in job searches, placement, retention, and advancementAssist participants with other goals such as education, training, budgeting, debt management, credit, and preparing for homeownershipMake referrals to service providers as neededDetermine when a participant can successfully graduate from the programMonitor escrow accounts and approve escrow disbursement in collaboration with program managementDocument interactions, actions, and outcomes in a shared databaseCoordinate community-building events with residents as neededProvide group workshopsPerform clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, faxing, printing, and loggingWork from multiple job sites and meet participants in their homes if neededQualifications
Bilingual in SpanishAssociate degree in social work or a related field, or 2-3 years' experience in human services, social work, case management, or related areasComfortable working in a diverse and dynamic work environmentFamiliarity with Salesforce, Bonterra, or other CRMs and confidence using Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, or similar tech platformsExperience planning and leading community events and outreach initiativesReliable transportationFamiliarity with presenting to groups of peopleBasic knowledge of local community resources.Availability to work nights and weekends with advance noticeClear and effective communicator-both spoken and writtenOrganized, detail-oriented, and good at staying on top of tasksStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and achieve timely completion of assignmentsWork Environment
This is a full-time role with a flexible schedule, including scheduled nights and weekends and frequent site visits. A reliable vehicle or use of public transit is required. Work-related mileage and 50% of transit costs are reimbursed.
Employment Terms / Compensation
Salary : $55,000-$65,000, based on experienceThis is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive benefits packageJPNDC is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
