Job description

Duties :

Client Engagement and Business Development

Solicits new business, account rounding, and account renewals. Makes recommendations as needed.
Explains available coverage options, recommends coverages, completes necessary forms, and quotes premiums. Possesses knowledge of coverages and accurately interprets coverage forms.
Maintains and grows assigned book of business.
Examines and analyzes new business applications, renewal requests, and endorsements for compliance with underwriting authority and guidelines. Makes recommendations as needed.

Administrative and Compliance Duties

Enters documents into agency computer system and set-up agency account codes.

Maintains client files and generates client contacts as needed.

Adheres to and complies with established agency procedures.

Remains knowledgeable and up to date on rates, forms, and coverage changes through bulletins and circulars and maintains all insurance manuals (rules, rates, procedures). Communicates underwriting changes to customers and other team members.

Professional Development and Team Collaboration

Participates in seminars and classes for knowledge and professional development.

Assists other team members as needed to meet agency, team, and individual goals.

Possesses a positive, service-oriented attitude toward agencies, insureds, and employees within the company.

Actively collaborates with team members, contributes to meetings and projects, and fosters a positive, cooperative team environment.

Education / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree preferred.

Minimum 3 years Personal Lines insurance experience or equivalent sales related experience (outside sales or inside sales rep, telemarketing) required.

Successful track record of meeting sales goals / quotas preferred.

Equivalent combination of education, training or related work experience will be considered.

Certifications / Licenses :

Property & Casualty Solicitors License required.

Successful completion of CIC personal lines or CPCU personal lines preferred.
