Job descriptionTravel Pharmacist position at Carlsbad Medical Center. Clinical pharmacy duties include verification of provider orders, medication dispensing, OmniCell restock, medication preparation, supervision of pharmacy techs. Responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages. Collaboration with physicians on drugs and dosing, education of nursing staff, patients, and physicians regarding medications. Medication safety initiatives, patient profiles, avoidance and reporting of adverse drug reactions, mixing of IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and narcotic accountability. 3+ years acute care facility experience required. BLS certification required. New Mexico Pharmacy licensure required. Shift : Days, 7 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday. Rotating weekends 7 : 30 AM - 2 : 30 PM. Call required : rotating Monday-Friday 5 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM; weekends 2 : 30 PM - 7 : 00 AM. 40 hour work week, day shift, rotating weekend shifts. After hours call schedule shared between 5 pharmacists (weekdays 5 PM - 7 AM, weekends 2 : 30 PM - 7 AM). Fingerprints required for all New Mexico travelers. Facility does not have 24 / 7 in-house pharmacy coverage. 48-hour guarantees may not be accommodated. Blocked scheduling may be accommodated, must be included in body of submittal. EMR system : MedHost. 99 bed hospital. No floating required.
