Floor Technician Job Description

Summary

Floor care technicians are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet ( dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting) of areas thet include offices, residents rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.

Essential Functions

• Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions.
• Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, saftey guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
• The floor technician is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedulw.
• Reports equipment / cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion
• Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all saftey precautions.
• The floor care technician is responsible for collecting trash / recycling / laundry in an outside / soiled linen from units and for the proper disposal of  trash / recycling / laundry in an outside / soiled linen barrel container.
• Work invoolves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to above head.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Stands and walks continuously throughout the work day. Reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulated various supplies and equipment. Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents. Must be free from infection or disease. Must be able to lift and or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

While performinf the duties of this job, the employees frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, and risk of electric shock. The employee is exposed to wet / or humid conditions and changes of temperature.
