As a Claims Manager, you'll lead a team of Team Leaders and Litigation Claims professionals who handle attorney-represented soft tissue bodily injury claims with varying levels of complexity. You'll be responsible for coaching, performance management, and strategic oversight to ensure high-quality claim outcomes and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
What does a CLAIMS MANAGER- HELP do at GAINSCO?
- Lead, coach, and support a team of 4-6 Level 3 and Litigation Team Leaders.
- Provide ongoing training and development to improve technical and leadership skills.
- Oversee onboarding and performance management of team members.
- Drive team accountability for quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work.
- Support company initiatives and lead special projects as needed.
- Partner with recruiting to build and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
- Influence decision-making across departments and levels of the organization.
- Review escalated claims and provide expert guidance on policy and jurisdictional matters.
- Audit claim files and leadership directives to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Analyze trends and recommend improvements in injury handling and inventory management.
- Collaborate with legal and SIU teams to ensure proper claim outcomes.
- Lead educational sessions and CE-accredited training in partnership with outside counsel.
- Monitor and mitigate risks associated with bodily injury claims and litigation.
- Manage staffing needs, performance evaluations, and compensation recommendations.
- Lead or assist with department-wide initiatives and contests to drive engagement.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to align goals and resolve issues.
What is required?
Education :
Bachelor's degree preferredLicenses / Certifications :
To perform the essential functions of this job an active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements.Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained.All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.Experience :
Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role handling attorney-represented bodily injury claims.Prior litigation claims handling experience strongly preferred.Auto insurance background required; non-standard auto experience is a plus.Knowledge of Image Right and Claims Manager.Skills and Abilities :
