Job descriptionEvaluate medical records and determine the medical necessity of proposed orthopedic treatments and surgeries Review appealed cases and provide objective, evidence-based recommendations Submit clear, concise reports using Dane Street’s secure online portal Follow nationally recognized clinical guidelines and best practices Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery Current clinical or surgical practice Excellent written communication and analytical skills Comfortable working independently in a digital, remote setting Flexible Scheduling : Work when and how much you want Streamlined Reviews : Average case takes just 15–20 minutes No Admin Burden : We handle all documentation, communication, and formatting Supportive Team : Full training, onboarding, and ongoing support provided Modern Technology : Easy-to-use portal with integrated medical records and guidelines Timely Reviews : Most cases are due within 1–5 business days
Description
Dane Street, a nationally recognized leader in Utilization Review (UR) and Independent Review Organization (IRO) services, is expanding its panel of physician reviewers. We are currently seeking Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeons with an active Louisiana medical license to perform independent medical reviews on a flexible, fully remote basis.
This non-clinical, contract opportunity (1099) is ideal for orthopedic surgeons seeking supplemental income, work-life balance, and a way to apply their clinical expertise without direct patient care—all while maintaining an active surgical or clinical practice.
