Summary
The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the administration of an established financial aid program (federal, state, and institutional funds) that adheres to regulations with integrity and ethical values and upholds the mission and vision of Casper College. This position also oversees admissions application processing, the Enrollment Services one‑stop, international student programming, and Veterans benefits.
Responsibilities
- General administration of the Financial Aid Office; monitoring budgets, providing advisement, and establishing policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Planning, developing, organizing, and coordinating a comprehensive Financial Aid program and supervising staff.
- Collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus departments to create inclusive strategies that address the diverse needs of the student body and aligning with institutional goals.
- Analyzing data to assess program effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
- Coordinating with Accounting, Financial Management, and IT on Financial Aid matters and serving as the Veterans Certifying Official.
- Leading and directing the Financial Aid Office and the Enrollment Services one‑stop.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulations (FISAP, Consumer Information, Gainful Employment, IPEDS, NSLDS, SSCR review, etc.).
- Formulating student expense budgets and serving on the campus Tuition and Fee committee.
- Monitoring all Title IV aid programs, including reconciliations, and administering federal grants and direct loans.
- Representing CC in professional associations and serving as the state liaison for data security and financial aid matters.
- Participating in strategic enrollment management initiatives.
- Developing and evaluating financial aid programs, ensuring high‑level policies and procedures are followed.
- Coordinating application, distribution, recording, and reporting of all student aid, including federal work‑study.
- Updating the CC financial aid policy manual and maintaining annual reports.
- Monitoring student academic progress for aid eligibility and handling appeals.
- Administering and maintaining financial aid systems that interface with accounting and student records.
- Providing individual counseling through all aid phases.
- Organizing financial aid meetings, events, and literacy programs for prospective students.
- Supervising award letter preparation and verification.
- Ensuring direct‑loan applications and disbursements comply with regulations.
- Overseeing verification processes for various aid programs.
- Managing data security compliance (GLBA, FERPA, Privacy Act, HEA).
- Managing the census roster reporting with the Registrar.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business or a related field.Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in post‑secondary education (admissions, student records, financial aid, or enrollment services).Five years of supervisory experience.Proficiency with computer and technology tools (MS Office Suite, document imaging, database, CRM, etc.).Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.Knowledge of FERPA rules and regulations.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people.Desired Qualifications
Supervisory experience in a Financial Aid Department.Experience with Colleague and / or Image Documenting.Supplemental Information
Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Interaction with the public is required, especially during peak seasons. Short periods of time may be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Occasional travel will be required. Work is usually performed during the normal workday; early morning, late evening, and weekend work may be required during peak periods.
Physical Demands
Employee is regularly required to sit and stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use a computer, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required; less frequent lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Specific vision requirements include close‑up focus and ability to adjust focus.
