Position Summary : A Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing various aspects of a company's shipping segment (customers not being delivered on company affiliated truck).

What You’ll Do :

• Coordinating transportation (air and truck), providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
• Manages “last mile” partners and review opportunities for new partners.
• Reviews and updates freight costs and ensures costs are being appropriately allocated to customers.
• Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels.
• Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
• Making special shipping arrangements as necessary.
• Tracking and fixing shipping errors.
• Preparing bills and invoices.
• Provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations.
• May Support a variety of logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching, including overseeing the 3-way match with accounting and production.
• Assist and Coordinate with inventory management, warehousing, and transportation in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
• Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
• Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
• Reports to a manager.
• Supports the sales and operations team by generating a variety of reports and providing administrative support.
