Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an IR Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT (R) certification for a Level 3 trauma acute care setting.
Responsibilities
Employment in an acute care hospital Interventional Radiology departmentPerform all IR procedures including service to neuro IR, vascular, and neuro surgeonsThree procedure rooms available : two biplane, one single plane, with a hybrid OR that occasionally runs both CT and IRPatient caseload typically varies from 10-20 IR procedures per day, plus 1-4 stroke cases per week2 IR technologists are assigned per roomCerner EMR, GE Centricity RIS, and Philips Intellispace PACS are used; Cerner EMR experience requiredRotating 4x10 hour day shifts beginning between 7 : 00am and 7 : 30am, ending as late as 6 : 00pmCall required : 1-2 weeknights (6pm-7am), 1 weekend per month, 30-minute response timeScrubs provided; department assigns specific colorDuties include scrubbing in and circulating for all IR procedures, including neuro and vascular casesTeam includes integrated nurses, techs, a charge nurse, nurse manager, lead IR tech, and radiology directorIn-house radiologists present during the day, with call coverage at nightTravelers assigned a preceptor during the first week; first day consists of department orientation with educational modulesHoliday shifts required if scheduled on a regular shift or call dayStroke room availability must be maintained at all timesNo IV starts required by techs; IR RNs handle IVsNot required to float to hybrid OR, but experience is preferredRequirements
Active ARRT (R) certification and BLS requiredWashington state radiologic technologist license required if applicableAt least 1 year of IR experience required; travel and stroke center experience preferredMust provide a current radiation badgeDriver’s license copy required for considerationTwo recent references : one supervisor from within the past year, another peer or supervisor from within the past three yearsExperience with Cerner EMR requiredIV certification preferredBenefits
