Skillforce is looking for Traveling Industrial Electricians in Elko, NV.

This job has a per diem of $125 / day for those who wish to travel in for the role!

Industrial Electrician Duties and Responsibilities :

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on mining equipment such as draglines, shovels, drills, conveyors, crushers, and processing plants.

Perform electrical work for new facility construction, including conduit installation, wiring, panel installations, and grounding systems.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and switchgear.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards.

Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize equipment downtime.

Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.

Operate electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and circuit tracers.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.

Work in all weather conditions and challenging terrains within the mining site.

Industrial Electrician Qualifications

Industrial electrical experience, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.

MSHA 46 or 48 certification required (training can be provided if needed.)

Strong knowledge of high-voltage (480V–13.8kV) systems, transformers, and switchgear.

Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.

Ability to work safely in confined spaces, heights, and extreme weather conditions.

Proficiency in electrical code compliance and safety regulations.

Job Type : Contract

Hours : 5-6 days per week, 50-60 hours

Salary : Up to $38.00 per hour for qualified Journeyman

Up to $28 per hour for qualified helpers

125 / day per diem for travelers
