Job Description :

The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain's internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility.

Primary Children's Hospital is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in a five-state region. Our facility includes a 32-bed PICU, 16-bed CICU, 28-bed Neuro Trauma Unit, and a 50-bed Level IV NICU. Our iFlex Internal Travel Agency is hiring for a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Oncology BMT Unit at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. This specialized unit provides cutting-edge care for children undergoing cancer treatment and bone marrow transplants in a supportive, research-driven environment.

About the iFlex RN Role - Pediatric Oncology BMT

As an iFlex RN in the Pediatric Oncology BMT unit, you'll care for children with hematologic and oncologic conditions, including those undergoing bone marrow transplants. This role is ideal for experienced pediatric oncology nurses who thrive in complex, emotionally rewarding settings.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments

Monitor for complications related to cancer and transplant therapies

Collaborate with oncologists, transplant specialists, and interdisciplinary teams

Provide education and emotional support to patients and families

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Minimum Qualifications :

PALS certification

Pediatric oncology / BMT experience preferred

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.

Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution

Compensation and Benefits :

$68-$75 / hour flat rate, adjusted quarterly

Competitive pay aligned with travel RN market rates

Pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement for assignments 50+ miles from home

Nurses secure their own housing during travel assignments

Posting Specifics :

Shift : Variable (50 / 50)

Schedule : Full-time 6-13-week assignment

Travel Requirements :

• Must be willing to float throughout Primary Children's Hospital and to Primary Children's Lehi

Physical Requirements :

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting / ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing / pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period.
