Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Medical Surgical Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Experience : Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in Medical / Surgical License : Must have an active License in hand upon submission Certifications : BLS required, NIHSS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have : Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Description : Position specialty is RN Medical / Surgical. The shift schedule is 3x12 nights from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30. No block scheduling is available. Every other weekend is required, with a minimum of 2 weekends per month. Requests for time off must not exceed 5 days, with no more than 2 consecutive days. No time off is allowed during holidays or the day before or after a holiday. Floating to other units may be required based on facility needs. All staff members are expected to float to different areas as needed. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. Refusal to float may result in cancelation of the assignment. The primary area of expertise will be honored but floating may occur outside of this competency. The work environment is a Level 1 Trauma Center. Scrub color is navy blue. Charting is performed using a specified system. Candidates must submit proof of vaccinations 1 week prior to the start date. Boosters are not required. This role includes evaluating and interpreting dysrhythmias. Isolation precautions must be adhered to. Management of dysrhythmias is essential. Skills required include oxygen administration and tracheostomy care. Responsibilities include peripheral line care and management. Candidates must be responsive and meet compliance requirements promptly. Failure to comply may result in the inability to continue the assignment.
