Internal Job Description – CT Technologist\n\nGENERAL SUMMARY : \nThe CT Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. This role utilizes CT technology and technique to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions for patients across the age continuum.\n\nPRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Essential job functions marked with “
” ) : \n\nDemonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, beliefs, and core values.\n\nPerforms all diagnostic and interventional CT studies while practicing appropriate radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.\n\nUses sterile technique when required.\n\nEnsures optimal demonstration of patient anatomy through proper positioning and technical factor selection.\n\nPerforms venipuncture.\n\nOperates all CT equipment and support systems (HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS, teleradiography); evaluates images for technical quality.\n\nUtilizes department computer systems (PACS, etc.) to review patient history and accurately document studies.\n\nProvides appropriate care and imaging for patients of all ages while maintaining confidentiality.\n\nCoordinates exams within the department and with other areas to ensure efficient workflow; communicates effectively with medical staff, coworkers, patients, and families.\n\nHandles telephone calls related to scheduling, coordination, and inquiries with courtesy and accuracy.\n\nParticipates in departmental quality improvement initiatives.\n\nCleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment; reports issues to the coordinator and contacts service vendors as needed.\n\nEnsures work area is properly stocked.\n\nEngages in continuing education, reviews literature, and participates in development opportunities; attends required meetings.\n\nAssists with orientation and clinical education of students as assigned.\n\nSupports future planning and development of the CT department.\n\nAccesses and administers applicable drugs and biologicals per Medical Center policy.\n\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\n\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : \n\nKnowledge of CT positioning, technical factors, and radiation safety.\n\nKnowledge of invasive and non-invasive CT procedures.\n\nFamiliarity with Joint Commission, federal, and state radiography regulations.\n\nKnowledge of relevant computer hardware / software.\n\nSkilled in operating CT equipment, PACS, and related systems.\n\nAbility to respond appropriately in stressful or emergent situations.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to prioritize and work independently.\n\nAbility to interact effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.\n\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\n\nAbility to care for diverse patient populations across all ages.\n\nDemonstrates courtesy and professionalism.\n\nPractices proper body mechanics for safety.\n\nMaintains strict HIPAA compliance.\n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : \n\nGraduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.\n\nCurrent ARRT certification or eligibility required.\n\nCT certification required within 24 months of hire.\n\nValid state medical radiographer license required.\n\nOTHER CERTIFICATIONS : \n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) – AHA required.\n\nSUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS\nRequirement\tYes / No\nMinimum 2 years CT Tech experience\tRequired\nARRT Certified\tRequired\nActive Nebraska (NE) Medical Radiographer License\tRequired\nBLS – AHA\tRequired\nGraduate from accredited radiologic technology school\tRequired\nCandidate a 1099?\t—\nDoes candidate need time off?\tList dates in comments if applicable\nDoes candidate live within 50 miles of the facility?\tRequired – locals not accepted\nCOMMENTS / SCHEDULING DETAILS\n\nASAP Start Date!\n\nWeek 1 Schedule : Sunday–Thursday, 23 : 00–07 : 30\n\nWeek 2 Schedule : Monday–Thursday & Saturday, 23 : 00– 07 : 30\n\nOrientation : 12 hours non- billable\n\nGuaranteed hours do NOT apply during orientation\n\nClient may call off up to 48 hours per 13-week assignment\n\nNo local candidates accepted (50-mile radius restriction)About Malone Healthcare - Nursing
