Role Overview :
As a Long Term Care Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to residents as outlined in their care plans and in compliance with all relevant regulations. You will play a pivotal role in guiding and supervising ancillary staff to ensure optimal care delivery.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver quality care to residents with varying levels of acuity, administer medications and treatments following best practices, and ensure continual competency in nursing skills.Supervise CNAs, manage workflow within the unit, and employ the nursing process for assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluations.Maintain accurate medication inventories, ensure proper medication administration, and monitor residents for side effects.Guide auxiliary staff and communicate effectively with residents, families, and guardians regarding care needs.Implement preventative measures for skin integrity and comfort, monitoring for any areas needing attention.Respond swiftly to alarms and maintain a proactive approach to resident safety.Provide compassionate end-of-life care and support the family during this time.Uphold a high standard of safety and alertness in all actions.Conduct point-of-care testing as per protocols.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications :
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.No prior experience is necessary.Physical Requirements :
Frequent communication and interaction with others.Extended periods of standing and walking.Ability to lift and carry weights of up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.Occasional requirement for patient assistance and mobility support.Licensure and Certifications :
State-specific Registered Nurse (RN) license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.This position is primarily for day shifts, requiring 40 scheduled hours per week.
