Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with Ohio licensure and CCC from ASHA for a primarily pediatric caseload.
Responsibilities
Outpatient setting with 90% pediatric caseload, 5% adult outpatient, and 5% adult inpatientTypical caseload is 12-14 patients dailyPrimary diagnoses include articulation disorders, language delays, childhood apraxia, AAC needs, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, early intervention, and developmental delaysSome adult cases include CVA, dementia, acute encephalopathy, and pneumoniaWork schedule is mainly four 10-hour days with Wednesdays offBedside swallow assessments for inpatient adultsElectronic medical records system is used; experience is preferredRadius rule requires candidates to live more than 50 miles from the facilityEvaluates, plans, and implements individualized speech therapy services for patientsCollaborates with families and interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plansAssesses patients using standardized and non-standardized toolsProvides education and training to patients and caregiversParticipates in discharge planning and recommends assistive equipment as neededSupports departmental goals and participates in process improvement activitiesPass / fail EKG testing required on first day, with study guides providedMaintains continuing education and professional competencyScrub or dress code not specifiedThis position does not accept local candidatesRequirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited programActive Ohio Speech-Language Pathologist licenseCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility under a supervised Professional Experience PlanMinimum of 1 year of relevant experienceCurrent CPR certificationExperience with pediatric speech therapy and adult swallowing / language / cognition is preferredLicense required if applicableBenefits
