- CST preferred (will consider grandfathered Surgical Techs)
- BLS (American Heart Assoc) required
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Hospital Ortho OR experience preferred
This position is located at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land.
In this role, you will provide proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instruments, serving as a scrub assistant to the physician during operative procedures. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, using your knowledge and expertise to mentor and support fellow staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate of a Surgical Technologist ProgramLicense / Certification : Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
New GradSurg Tech I = 1 yearSurg Tech II = 2-4 yearsSurg Tech III = 5+ yearsPrincipal Accountabilities
Demonstrate knowledge and independent practice of perioperative patient care concepts as a first scrub in assigned specialty areas.Support the readiness and flow of cases to ensure smooth unit operations, performing various duties as necessary.Verify functioning and availability of supplies / instruments / equipment prior to surgical procedures as indicated by the surgeon's preference card.Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies and standards while managing resources efficiently.Engage in ongoing professional growth by meeting educational requirements and serving as a mentor for less experienced staff.Commit to providing compassionate and personalized care to each individual in our community. Promote Memorial Hermann’s service standards through safe, caring interactions with patients and colleagues.Other duties as assigned.
