Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, sellers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Manager at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Maintenance Manager supervises and coordinates activities of production workers and workers engaged in repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties :

Summary Responsibilities :

• Confer with yard personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials handling equipment such as mobile equipment, plant equipment and other parts and fluids
• Keep records of service parts received and used
• Initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment
• Inspect incoming parts and verify invoices
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
• Interpret job orders to workers and assigns duties
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of yard, departments, or work crew
• Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
• Maintain time and production records and may perform activities of workers supervised
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
• Assist with day-to-day safety and production meetings
• Assist with scheduling outbound material to vendors
