About the Role
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations within a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This leadership position ensures production targets are consistently met while maintaining top-tier standards in food safety, employee engagement, cost control, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily operations across production, quality assurance, sanitation, logistics, and maintenance teams
- Lead plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Develop and manage budgets, cost-saving programs, and resource planning strategies
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments
- Ensure all operations adhere to federal and state food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards
- Lead workforce planning, training, and organizational development to support high performance
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished products
- Maintain strong communication with corporate leadership to report on plant metrics and project status
- Establish and maintain a culture focused on workplace safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in operations management, industrial engineering, food science, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience managing food manufacturing plant operationsIn-depth knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and OSHA safety standardsProven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-output environmentStrong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsExperience with ERP systems and manufacturing metrics tracking softwareDesired Qualifications :
Masters degree in business administration, supply chain management, or operationsCertification in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar credentialsWorking knowledge of automation systems, plant utilities, and production schedulingBilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
