About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required; Unit accepts first-time travelers

License : Active state license required

Certifications : BLS, CPI preferred

Must-Have :

EPIC experience required.

Must be able to manage insulin and heparin drips.

Charge experience preferred.

Description :

RTO after booking is not allowed.

Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in cancellation.

Charge required on night shift with target ratios of 1 : 6-7.

The schedule consists of 36 or 48 hours per week.

If working 48 hours, no overtime will be billed until after 48 hours.

RTO is limited to 7 days maximum.

Call is required if placed on a prescheduled shift.

Floating to similar units and alternate care locations may be required.

Travelers will be assigned to work every other weekend.

Travelers must be able to work holidays.

There is a possibility of caring for patients with COVID-19.

Contract staff will be assigned to storm and hurricane teams.

They may be required to report during catastrophic events or disasters.

Staffing will support general med / surg patients for adults and geriatrics.

Daily census is approximately 43 patients.

Special procedures include managing insulin drips and heparin drips.

Wound vac dressing changes and high flow oxygen support are typical.

Limited short-term BiPap respiratory support may occasionally be available.

No additional training is needed for biPAP support.

Unit is appropriate for all med / surg nurses.

No PCU level patients are on this unit.

Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV teams and respiratory services.

Candidate must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the specialty.

Candidate's previous experience will be reviewed upon hiring.

Candidate may float within hospitals or to nearby affiliates based on needs.

Submission details are based on departmental requirements.

Candidates are encouraged to be flexible regarding shifts and locations.

Fatigue policies limit working days and hours to maintain staff well-being.
