Accounting Manager (CPA)
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Accounting Manager (CPA) to lead our accounting operations and drive financial excellence across our manufacturing organization. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a trusted financial partner to senior leadership, ensuring compliance, optimizing systems, and delivering actionable insights that support business growth. CPA certification is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, fixed assets, and payroll
- Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to executive leadership
- Oversee internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including sales tax, corporate tax, and financial reporting standards
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing all aspects of the year-end audit and financial reviews
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, internal controls, and system workflows-particularly within SAP
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and liquidity planning in coordination with finance leadership
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and to develop effective tax strategies
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and professional development
- Support special projects, including ERP enhancements, cost accounting initiatives, and financial modeling for new business opportunities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceActive CPA license (required)5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial roleStrong knowledge of GAAP, audit practices, and financial reporting standardsProficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance, sales / use tax, and regulatory reportingProven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvementsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
