Senior Software Engineer

Overview :

Mastercard is a global technology company behind the world’s fastest payments processing network. Mastercard's Commercial Solutions provides capabilities such as expense management, reporting, virtual cards, and acceptance to our issuers, driving visibility and actionable insights. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Commercial Platform Engineering organization in our O'Fallon, Missouri location. This is a hybrid position requiring three days on-site per week.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for development, deployment support, recruiting & mentoring the team, owning the delivery of user stories, and performing code reviews.

Role Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality backend software solutions.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Optimize database queries and schemas for performance and scalability.
• Apply best practices in automated testing, CI / CD, and monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Architects, Product Owners, and Designers.
• Ensure adherence to Mastercard Engineering Principles and security standards.
• Contribute to the Software Engineering Guild by sharing knowledge and best practices.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri : $115,000 - $184,000 USD
