Position SummaryAs part of Odyssey's team of Growth professionals, the Senior Business Development Manager supporting growth in the Army market, will successfully identify, qualify, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities, and lead growth initiatives for the organization. This position will require an energetic and proactive approach and a fundamental understanding of the US DoD Army market. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Group Executive Directors, and report directly to the Director, Corporate Growth. This is a full-time hybrid role ideally based out of the Aberdeen Proving Ground area, the National Capitol Region, or one of our corporate offices located near critical Army customers.ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to : Responsible for the leadership, execution and success of all identified and assigned Army market Business Development effortsCollaborate with Capture, Operations and Technical SMEs to pursue a unified Army business development strategyCollaborate with other market Business Development Managers to drive new business and business relationships across all market accountsIdentify, qualify, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities for the cross-group Army pipelineIdentify potential future business opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcementsMaintain a current, related and relevant understanding of emerging / growth markets and long-term trends in Army related technology development, procurement and operational needsMonitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities for the business.Stay updated on industry best practices to maintain a competitive edgeFunction as capture lead on pursuits through Bid / No Bid decision stage reviewsBuild and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within Army related program offices and developmental organizations across the DoDAssess the competitive market landscape, apply an understanding of customer "hot buttons", and use strategic filters to help develop and assess potential solutionsBuild partnerships with other defense contractors and prime integrators related to the Army marketRepresent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our services and network with potential clientsProvide detailed pipeline reporting, including opportunity health and customer engagement updates as required (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly)Assist in proposal reviews, ensuring alignment with customer needs and compliance with requirementsAssist in the maintenance of the Corporate BD RepositoryMeet or exceed the annual sales and profitability goals as established by the CompanyWork with the Group Executive Directors, on strategies for short-, mid- and long-term goals and brief the Executive Leadership team at offsite meetingsContinuously expand Odyssey's reputation / engagementQualificationsMinimum Required QualificationsCitizenship : Must be a US CitizenClearance : Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret ClearanceEducation : Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical DisciplineYears of Experience : 3-5 years Business Development or Capture experience in DoD Service companies, preferably supporting Army related customers and markets.Preferred QualificationsClearance : Active Top Secret ClearanceEducation : Master's Degree in a Business FieldCertifications : Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Shipley certificationLocations : Aberdeen Proving Grounds, National Capital Region, Huntsville, AL, and other Army Acquisition hubs.#LI-JC1Company OverviewOdyssey Systems Consulting Group, is an innovative small business committed to providing world-class technical, management, and training support services to government and public sector clients.
