The Role
This is a senior manager and program manager role in the client product engineering team. Responsibilities include defining and managing key product deliverables / schedules and driving cross-functional activities. The applicant will be responsible for pre-silicon planning and, once silicon arrives, will drive product performance, test, customer samples execution, and high-volume manufacturing readiness. Managing horizontally across several functional organizations is a key job function. The role requires working hand-in-hand with our Asia engineering and operations counterparts, extensive interactions within the product engineering organization, and interacting with several other internal organizations (design, supply chain, quality, business, and customer engineering). The applicant must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced product development engineer who encourages their team to find effective solutions to complex problems and drive continuous improvement. They should have a technical understanding of silicon performance and / or test, be a technical leader and innovator, and be able to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams. The candidate should have a passion for product engineering and a willingness to dive into technical areas outside of their expertise to pull the team past blockers. They should also possess excellent communication skills with diverse audiences ranging from executives to new hires, demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, and be adaptable to real-time changes in business or customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Drive pre-silicon planning and influence key decisions on product power and performance. Drive critical post-silicon testing methodology and implementation decisions. Communicate product life cycle status to management or executive staff. Perform management reviews to measure the meeting of objectives. Define and lead key product deliverables / schedules and drive multi-functional activities. Guide customer samples execution and high-volume manufacturing readiness once silicon arrives. Interact with several other internal organizations (design, supply chain, quality, business, and customer engineering). Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments. Collaborate on or assume responsibility for specific projects or definable portions of larger projects or processes. Plan and execute early silicon bring-up, characterization, product definition, test solution development (Sort / ATE / SLT hardware and test programs), and production ramp. Interface with executive leadership, the business unit, validation teams, supply chain, external manufacturing vendors, and customers to deliver comprehensive microprocessor solutions.
Preferred Experience
Experience with taking ASICs, GPUs, or CPUs to production. Proven success in semiconductor product development coordinating across multiple functions in the US and APAC (Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering). Technical project and product management experience. Experience presenting to director level or above management internally. Background in solid state physics, computer architecture, digital or analog design. Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and / or manufacturing domains. Courses or certifications in project management (PMI, LSS, AGILE, ISO 9000). Experience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban.
Academic Credentials
B.S. or M.S. Engineering degree or related experience. Location : Austin, TX
