Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 15 / 2026)

On-Site Position

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1470 - $1570

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas RN license or compact state nursing license

Current BLS certification (AHA required)

Current ACLS certification (AHA required)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or related clinical nursing specialty preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Ability to attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire

Completion of annual competency verification requirements

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation)

Administer cardiac medications and treatments per protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness

Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing interventions

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on cardiac conditions and recovery plans

Support the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of cardiac patients and their families

Delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare staff as appropriate

May float to CHRISTUS Longview facility based on patient census needs

Participate in ongoing nursing competency and skills validation programs
