Our Department

The Finance Department consists of 26 full‑time employees and a proposed annual department budget of $7.2 million for FY25 / 26. The department is divided into the Administration, Budget, Purchasing, Accounting & Auditing, and Revenue divisions. It safeguards public financial resources, provides the City Council with thoughtful policy analysis, develops the city budget, oversees purchasing activities, assists city departments with program implementation, and reports the city’s financial activity clearly to the organization and the community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a local government professional with strong technical knowledge in municipal finance, including governmental fund accounting, auditing, payroll and billing operations. The Deputy Finance Director will report directly to the Finance Director and assist in managing and directing the Finance Department with regard to treasury, accounts payable, payroll, billing and collections, utility billing, long‑term debt issuance, and administration. The ideal candidate is personable, approachable, and committed to interdepartmental communication and collaboration. Strong accounting skills, preferably in municipal government, and experience ensuring accurate journal entries and preparing for the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Single Audit, State Controller’s Report, fund balance and payroll functions is critical.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range : $164,321.27 – $198,492.10. Placement within this range depends on qualifications. Upcoming scheduled salary increases will take place in January 2026 (2%) and July 2026 (2%).
