Job descriptionAbility to obtain and maintain DoD clearance whichrequires US Citizenship Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering at an accredited university Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and at least one programming language Good organizational and communication skills Active DoD Secret Clearance Working Knowledge of Fun3D Knowledge of instrumentation and test methods for verification of aerodynamic loads and performance parameters Knowledge of FAA and military certification processes
Overview
All qualified resumes will be responded to within 24 hours or less. This effort will be on-site 3-4 days a week, with WFH the other day or two, depending on program schedule.
Aerodynamics Engineer : Aerodynamicists are responsible for the analysis of aircraft modifications using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and classical analysis methods validated by wind tunnel or flight test programs.
Responsibilities
- Calculate flight performance estimates, including range / endurance, drag estimates, take-off and landing performance, etc.
- Loads development, using classical hand analysis methods and CFD, for steady and unsteady distributions, modification airloads, rapid decompression loads and aircraft external loads
- Stability and control analysis
- Support of water tunnel testing, wind tunnel testing and flight testing
- Preparation of analytical reports, test plans, and test reports necessary to document the airworthiness of major aircraft modifications
