Area Manager Environmental

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Area Manager Environmental at our East Chicago, Indiana operation. This role provides management of the Environmental Engineers and hourly Technicians. They ensure that the facility demonstrates superior compliance with all Environmental rules and regulations that apply to manufacturing.

Summary of Responsibilities

Assist the IH Environmental Manager in the management of a large, experienced environmental department.

Create presentations to respond to Governmental and Management requests for information regarding the facility.

The successful candidate will need to prioritize tasks within the constraints of the time and budget allotted to the department.

Acts as an in-house consultant, providing technical and regulatory support to staff and departments.

Becomes familiar with plant operations and personnel, which will require a significant amount of time in the field at the mill.

Promotes and encourages teamwork and high-performance standards throughout the department.

The position will require, at times, weekend and after-hours presence in the facility.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of experiences in the Environmental field

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a managerial role with an Environmental consulting firm or at an industrial facility.

Specifically, experience in a fulling integrated steelmaking facility.
