Staff Auditor

Our firm is seeking an audit associate with great interpersonal skills and a background in Accounting.

Available as a full-time position, this role is in the Chesterfield, Missouri area.

Description

As a member of the Audit Department, you will be responsible for planning and conducting audits of client financial statements, assisting with determination of appropriate audit methodology, assisting with performance of risk assessments, and developing relationships with client companies. You will conduct audits of client company financials to ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards, determine the effectiveness of internal controls and the potential impact of internal control deficiencies, and examine records to ensure proper recording and authorization of transactions, compliance with policies and applicable laws. You will prepare detailed reports of audit findings and recommendations for client companies and prepare portions of review and audit engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting ( required )
• At least 3 years of audit experience ( required )
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
• Understanding of audit and attest services
• Knowledge of GASB standards, GAAP and GAAS
• Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service oriented with ability to interact at all levels of management
• Strong organization and detail orientation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work closely with senior management
• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
