Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1-2 years of diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab within a large, short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching Level III trauma facilityDay shifts, 4x10 hours (7 : 00 AM – 5 : 30 PM) with on-call approximately one day per week and every 4th to 5th weekendPatient population is adults requiring cardiac stent placement, catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, PCI, PTCA, PA line insertion, right and left heart cath, temporary pacemakersDuties include scrubbing, monitoring, circulating, and maintaining a sterile field for cardiac proceduresExpected to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as neededUses Excellian / Epic charting system; prior Epic / Excellian experience requiredScrubs provided by the unitResponsibilities include monitoring and assisting with a variety of cardiac interventions and procedures, ensuring accurate patient assessment and sterile techniqueFirst-time travelers considered if they have at least 2 years cath lab experience with scrubbing and monitoring responsibilitiesPre-start modules are required, with up to 8 hours of online training recorded by transcriptTravelers must be gone at least 3 months from last shift if previously employed as perm or per diem staffRTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days for the contractMust complete Minnesota state fingerprint background check with no exceptionsOnsite parking available at a flat rate per hour\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum 1-2 years recent experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath labCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications are requiredExperience required in cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement / removal, arrhythmia interpretation, PCI, PTCA, PA line insertion, right and left heart catheterization, scrub procedures, and temporary pacemakersProficiency in equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and vascular closure systemsAbility to accurately monitor, perform as a room circulator, and maintain sterile techniqueEpic / Excellian charting experience requiredPending license accepted; valid state license required if applicableMust provide at least one supervisor reference for considerationLocals accepted for radiology positions only; must live greater than 100 miles from the facility for travel eligibility\n Benefits\n
