SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under general supervision of the building administrator provides assistance to the certificated preschool teacher and / or classified preschool instructor Teacher Assistant (TA) and / or the Family Support Specialist (FSS) in the development and implementation of daily educational programs for preschool age children in accordance with program standards. Enhances parents role as the principle influence on the childs education and development

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Certification and Licenses
Proof of physical exam and TB testing. For positive test results a statement from a doctor or a chest x-ray must be provided.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Post high school classes in early childhood education.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for three to five year old children.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a regular elementary school building. Ability to bend stretch twist walk reach requiring ordinary physical effort; lift 40 lb. and push / pull 60 lb.; listen more closely than normal daily life; use fingers hand and limbs with ordinary skill and speed are all required. Exposure to dust fumes bleach and disinfectants traffic infectious diseases / sickness human waste occasional extreme noise levels and occasionally high risk emotionally disturbed or dangerous individuals when making home visits.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE : All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
Federally funded Head Start programs require that all staff working with children receive an initial health examination a screening for tuberculosis (TB) regular and ongoing medical care and do not pose a risk to the young children (ages 0-5) or pregnant mothers that our program serves.
The State funded ECEAP program requires that all staff working with children complete a two-step Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test or proof of Negative Mantoux TB test in the 12 months prior to hire medical therapy to treat TB or a recent negative chest x-ray and a statement from a health care provider that the staff member does not pose a risk to others
All Head Start and ECEAP staff to provide specific immunization documentation related to measles mumps rubella (MMR) by January 31 2022 (RCW 43.216).
