Responsibilities

As a Staff RN in the peri-operative setting, you are directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, with an indirect reporting line to the House Supervisor. Your role involves delivering both direct and indirect patient care across a diverse range of age groups, from neonates to older adults, following the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Collaborating closely with surgeons and anesthesiologists, you will coordinate patient care, provide guidance to OR Technicians and other team members, and uphold professional nursing standards. Ensuring seamless care coordination, you work across departments to maintain high-quality patient care, smooth patient flow, and overall unit organization.

In addition to patient care responsibilities, you are committed to compliance with regulations, standards, and hospital policies. Active participation in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and ongoing education is integral to this role. The Staff RN also serves as a valuable resource for colleagues when needed, contributing to a supportive and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5. Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training

6. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred

7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $47.25 to $60.83.
