The Role : Kitchen Aide

The Kitchen Aide is an essential part of our cannabis kitchen operations. This role ensures that all equipment, utensils, and kitchen surfaces remain clean, sanitized, and ready for use-creating a safe, efficient environment where our culinary and production teams can work effectively. By supporting daily sanitation, safety, and organization, the Kitchen Aide helps uphold the high standards required in a regulated cannabis food-production workspace.

What the Position Involves

The Kitchen Aide is responsible for maintaining strict cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen. This includes operating commercial dishwashing equipment, washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other essential tools. All cleaned items must be sanitized according to food safety guidelines and stored correctly to prevent contamination.

Beyond these core cleaning responsibilities, the Kitchen Aide also plays a key role in maintaining the overall organization and safety of the kitchen. Daily tasks may include sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, emptying trash and recycling, and assisting with organizing storage areas. Ensuring clean, sanitized equipment is always available supports smooth kitchen operations and helps maintain workflow efficiency.

Compliance is a critical element of this position. The Kitchen Aide must follow all food safety rules, sanitation guidelines, and proper hygiene practices, while also adhering to safety protocols designed to prevent accidents or injuries. Reporting any safety hazards, equipment issues, or maintenance needs promptly is expected.

Because this is a team-based environment, the Kitchen Aide works closely with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and prioritize daily needs. When necessary, the role may also include assisting with basic food preparation, packaging, or storage activities to support overall kitchen output and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

While previous kitchen experience is preferred-especially experience operating commercial dishwashing equipment-it is not required. Candidates should have a strong understanding or willingness to learn food safety and sanitation standards. Physical stamina is essential, as the role involves prolonged standing, consistent movement, and lifting items as needed.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace are key attributes for success in this role. Candidates should be organized, reliable, capable of working under pressure, and comfortable following direction from supervisors and kitchen leadership.

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Although not specifically a leadership role, skills such as multitasking, proficiency with basic software, and an understanding of company policies will support success in a regulated cannabis environment. At least one year of retail or fast-paced work experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motion tasks consistently throughout their shift.
