Position Overview : This position is responsible for distribution of food and beverage items in a banquet setting and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Essential Job Functions : A Catering Attendant is the direct contact with the guest and it is the Catering Attendant's responsibility to ensure that all guest requests are fulfilled or filtered through your Catering Supervisor. The Catering Attendant has the responsibility to prepare stations prior to meal serving time to ensure that area is set according to supervisor's specifications. The Catering Attendant is required to ensure that all food safety practices are adhered to by maintaining food items at proper temperature and served with appropriate utensils and keeping all displays of product appealing. During the serving period, timely and clear communication with kitchen staff and supervisors is critical to ensure an adequate supply of inventory and control waste. Knowledge of the food items being served and the ingredients for each is a critical component to deliver excellent guest service. Clean up and break down of area after the event is required for all Catering Attendants along with any closing tasks assigned by supervisor.
