Leading Insurance Management Provider seeks an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our growing Baton Rouge team. We are looking for a highly motivated, team player with a strong aptitude for problem solving and excellent customer service skills. This position is primarily a remote / hybrid role requiring you to be in the Baton Roue office 1 day / week.

Position Overview

As our Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for handling oral, written and face-to-face inquiries for the company's coverage, rating, and billing procedures. You will update rating information and verify accuracy of policy information. In this role, you will be responsible for assigned accounts underwriting renewal quotes, processing of new applications and other policy changes and conducting ongoing communication with clients as needed. This position reports to our Underwriting Team Leader. Job growth opportunities include underwriting for Hospital accounts and new business quotes.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintains own individual workflow and client files
• Conducts activities in accordance with company underwriting manual guidelines
• Responds to clients / agents requests for quotes or changes to existing policies
• Maintains controls on all policies by expiration date
• Reviews and underwrites applications as needed
• Processes renewals in accordance with underwriting guidelines
• Issues coverage documents as required on new business and renewals
• Documents underwriting files including completion of all checklist items
• Enter renewals in policy administration system in a timely manner
• Processes all policy endorsements and document files accordingly
• Attends and participates in internal meetings and Continuing Education
• Performs other duties and projects as necessary
