Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina nursing jobs)

Facility : 40-bed Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 22 / 2025 – End : 3 / 23 / 2026)

Shift : 8 Hour Days (07 : 30–16 : 00)

Hours per Week : 40

Weekend Requirement : Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period

Dress Code : Navy, white tops / navy bottoms, or all white scrubs

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications

Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown or telemetry nursing experience

Experience with post-operative or vascular patient populations (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) preferred

CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience is a plus

Proficiency with Cerner EMR (Electronic Medical Records)

Strong teamwork skills and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care for cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including open heart and thoracic procedures

Monitor and manage telemetry and stepdown-level patients

Perform and manage procedures such as epidural and chest tube management, tube feedings, and IV gluccomander

Administer and titrate cardiac gtts (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine)

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float to other stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed

Maintain accurate documentation and comply with unit policies and clinical guidelines
