Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,056 per week in Bismarck, ND

The unit consists of 30 beds. Patient ratios are 1 : 4-5 during the day and 1 : 5-6 at night. Common diagnoses include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, and various abdominal surgeries. Experience with bariatrics, medical overflow, hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, and post-operative care is beneficial. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Occasional use of heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN is expected. A charge nurse is present on each shift, occasionally taking a low acuity assignment. Patient care technicians are available, with a ratio of one tech for every twelve patients. RNs are not required to read telemetry strips as there are monitor techs on the unit. RNs will do bedside shift reports. There is a strong emphasis on maintaining a close-knit and supportive culture on the unit. Floating to medical and telemetry units is required. Weekends and holidays are required as needed. Self-scheduling is available, subject to unit needs. Scrubs can be any color.
