Job descriptionPrepare and record accurate month-end journal entries for assigned functional accounting areas in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards. Analyze the purpose and accuracy of journal entries, including account coding and financial statement classifications, ensuring proper documentation and approvals are in place. Evaluate data sources for journal entry support, raising follow-up questions when necessary to ensure information integrity and accuracy. Collaborate with other accounting team members to maintain organized records and ensure consistency in reporting practices. Understand the impact of accounting entries on the organization's financial statements and provide clear explanations when needed. Support various functional accounting areas, which may include : Cash Accounting Fixed Assets Accounting Payroll Accounting Prepaid Assets & Deferred Revenue Inventory & Supplies Accounting Physician Fees & Guarantees Accounting Intercompany Accounting & Allocations Lease and Technical Accounting Health Plan & Grant Accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles. Prior experience preparing journal entries and supporting documentation. Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP / accounting systems preferred. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
