Job description

As a Site Lead, this individual must be team-oriented and flexible, actively sharing information and assisting peers. The role requires spending most or all of the time at the customer’s site, performing maintenance and coordinating daily activities for on-site technicians. Under minimal supervision, the Site Lead manages a site-based team and oversees field service technicians to meet production schedules and quality standards. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with strong troubleshooting abilities and high technical knowledge of product repair. The candidate must read and interpret electrical / mechanical schematics for fault isolation, cross-train on products, and seek common-mode problem resolutions independently and collaboratively. Providing feedback to management and utilizing business PC applications effectively are also required.

The Site Lead troubleshoots, services, installs, and repairs equipment at customer sites, maintains logs and files, and demonstrates initiative and dedication by exceeding customer and company expectations. Conducting follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and mentoring lower-level technicians are key responsibilities.

They must exemplify professionalism, maintain equipment, communicate effectively, meet deadlines, complete administrative tasks, and adhere to safety standards. Activities are generally independent, with duties subject to change without notice.

Specific duties include :

  • Scheduling shifts and coordinating work assignments for technicians to meet departmental and customer needs.
  • Ensuring efficient workload distribution for maintenance tasks.
  • Acting as the frontline interface with stakeholders, including airlines and vendors.
  • Providing staffing input and assisting in meeting contractual SLAs.
  • Maintaining quality and correcting performance issues among technicians.
  • Responding promptly to emergency and scheduled service calls.
  • Driving customer satisfaction through effective communication and timely service.
  • Managing parts ordering, inventory, and calibration of tools.
  • Reviewing logs, maintaining certifications, and supporting site surveys and projects.
  • Establishing relationships with other Site Leads and Tech Support to stay current on technical trends.
  • Controlling costs and maximizing revenue, and completing administrative tasks timely.
  • Traveling, working overtime, and working in various environments as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security policies.

Position requirements :

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience (>
  • 8 years in electrical / mechanical field service).

  • Certifications in networking or systems integration preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Linux preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years troubleshooting and repair experience, with 2 years in leadership.
  • Excellent communication, customer focus, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and pass a background check.
  • Physical / mental requirements :

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask.
  • Customer service, stress management, reliability, and accountability.
  • Physical ability to lift / carry 50 lbs, push / pull 200 lbs, and move heavy equipment with assistance.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments and on-call as needed.
  • Work environment :

  • Primarily off-site at locations like airports, correctional facilities, and ships, with up to 75% travel support.

    Pay Range : $72,150.00 - $130,425.00

    The Leidos pay range is a guideline and not a guarantee. Final compensation depends on responsibilities, education, experience, and other factors.
