North Carolina ER RN Job Details

Location : Sanford, NC 27330 (Central North Carolina)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 12 / 21 / 2025 – End : 3 / 22 / 2026)

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department (21 beds : 12 telemetry, 3 behavioral health, 5 fast track rooms)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : Every other weekend and some holidays required

Electronic Health Record : Cerner EHR

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1570 - $1680

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Strong teamwork, adaptability, and clinical support skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Scrub color : Any (no open-toed footwear, spandex pants, or sweatshirts)

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients

Perform trauma and resuscitation procedures, IV therapy, IV drips, oxygen support, and blood product administration

Monitor and interpret telemetry / EKG for acute cardiac and neurological emergencies

Respond to critical diagnoses including COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac arrest, stroke, and other urgent conditions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Participate in ongoing professional development and nursing education
