Job Summary
We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Real Estate Practice. This role involves overseeing the tax preparation and technical review process for primarily real estate-related businesses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Responsibilities include leading the tax team, advising on tax issues, researching, and recommending solutions to complex customer issues. The Tax Manager will delegate tasks, manage assignments, and perform administrative duties as needed. Additionally, the role involves training, supporting, supervising, motivating, and reviewing the work of the tax team.
Responsibilities
- Developing excellent customer relationships with top real estate companies.
- Providing proactive consulting on various tax matters to advise clients during times of disruption and uncertainty.
- Communicating engagement progress, issues, and resolutions effectively to clients.
- Analyzing industry trends impacting clients and creating solutions to support their growth.
- Collaborating across the firm to grow existing business and offer comprehensive solutions.
- Reviewing and developing workpapers supporting partnership allocations, basis adjustments, and tax transactions.
- Reviewing legal documents related to tax transactions, such as Operating Agreements and Purchase Agreements.
- Managing economic performance of engagements, including billing and collections.
- Continuously enhancing technical knowledge and professional development.
- Coaching and developing team members, providing ongoing feedback and growth opportunities.
- Building a professional network with colleagues, referral sources, potential clients, and external organizations.
- Representing the firm in the business community and participating in professional organizations.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law; Masters in Tax / LLM preferred.5+ years of recent public accounting experience managing real estate tax projects and client engagements.Experience developing team members, managing projects, and workflow.Extensive experience with real estate entity and individual taxes, especially partnerships.Ability to analyze flow-through distributions and profit / loss language in Operating Agreements.EA License or CPA certification required.Strong project and team management skills.Excellent communication and networking skills.Proficiency with tax software and technology.Why You Should Join Us
