Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble, and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability, and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and aim to delight our business partners through various banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end handling of critical core banking application production incidents, including incident analysis, recovery, system interfacing, communication on major incidents, code fixes, review of production changes, and source promotion to production.
- Implement application improvements related to performance and operations, and automate system tasks and toils.
- Automate manual activities and system health checks for production teams, ensuring SLIs / SLOs are met.
- Manage production issues from analysis to deployment, following production support processes and providing input for process improvement.
- Provide status updates to leads and stakeholders; coordinate with vendors for design, fixes, and deployment.
- Own incident communication, including SLA breaches and major incidents, and manage escalations.
- Coordinate recurring issues to ensure long-term resolution through incident and problem management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to analyze root causes of complex issues and outages.
- Maintain strong stakeholder management focusing on continuous service improvement, delivery, and stability.
- Drive root cause analysis with technology partners and facilitate RCA reviews.
- Work with the Risk team to respond to audits and RFIs, and manage audit walkthroughs.
Requirements
An undergraduate degree or higher.10-15 years of experience in banking, with at least 5+ years in a lead role managing mission-critical applications.Experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering principles, including performance, reliability, monitoring, alerting, and maintenance in production environments.Automation of manual tasks within a core banking ecosystem.Build and maintain production monitoring and automation solutions.Identify, measure, and report performance trends, SLIs / SLOs / SLA periodically, and improve system performance and KPIs.Hands-on experience with RDBMS, Unix, cloud, and mainframe-based large banking applications.Effective communication skills, especially with remote teams.Understanding of BAU support, incident, problem, and escalation management.Knowledge of risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, IT security, and compliance.Ability to present facts and recommendations clearly.Proactive, independent, resourceful, and team-oriented.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Preferred : Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Grafana / Kibana, AppDynamics.Preferred : Experience in Machine Learning / AI for automation and process efficiency.Knowledge of CASA, customer master, cheque processing, signature maintenance, and statement systems.Hands-on experience with open systems and mainframe environments, especially in core banking platforms like customer master systems, CASA, and statement generation systems.Strong technical skills in scripting, programming, DBA / SA roles.Experience in transformation and change management, software configuration, quality control, and version control management.Database skills : Postgres, EDB, MariaDB, Redis.Programming languages : Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS.Application servers : JBoss, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat.Middleware : MQ, file transfers.Event systems : Kafka.Scheduling tools : Tivoli workload scheduler for open systems and mainframe (z / OS).Apply now
