Senior Financial Analyst - Defense Program

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Financial Analyst with a robust background in defense programs to join our team based in Herndon, VA. In this critical role, you will manage complex projects across financial and operational domains, utilizing thorough knowledge of project management, Earned Value Management, and financial planning. This position is ideal for someone adept at enhancing data integrity, analyzing performance metrics, and maintaining financial compliance across multiple defense-oriented programs.

Salary : $120,000 - $150,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Manage the integrity of Earned Value Management data across programs using Cobra and SAP toolsets.
  • Carry out frequent forecasting tasks including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual projections against financial plans, focusing on profitability and cash flow.
  • Create, maintain, and update projects within SAP to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of Estimate at Completion (EAC) for all assigned projects.
  • Generate Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverables, particularly Formats 1-5 and 7.
  • Review variance reports incorporating Control Account Manager (CAM) insights.
  • Formulate and oversee program baseline budgets for precise performance measurement.
  • Develop detailed proposal cost estimates and pricing data for new bids and projects.
  • Support both internal and external audits pertaining to various programs under management.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as required by program management needs.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related analytical field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience or a Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience; 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience with COBRA / SAP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Deep understanding of Earned Value Management principles and applications.
  • Familiarity with risk management, financial management, and change management practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, ANSI-748-D, EVMIG, and NDIA Intent Guides.
  • Must be a US citizen, potentially requiring a Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • MBA or CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Prior involvement in leadership development programs within financial or defense sectors.
  • Experience overseeing financials for high-visibility programs.
  • Detailed understanding of government contracts like CPAF, CPFF, T&M, and FFP.
  • Certifications such as PMP or EVMP a plus.
  • Skills :

  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills facilitating effective teamwork and customer relations.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior team members effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
  • Adept at problem-solving and adapting to rapidly changing scenarios in a deadline-driven setting.
