KPNX the TEGNA station in Phoenix AZ has an opening for a Broadcast Technician. The person filling this role preps network programming for delayed playback. The Broadcast Technician must also be an experienced newscast director and is responsible for coding and switching our locally produced content using Sony ELC automation. Effective interaction with a control room team from multiple departments and in varied locations is critical to success. Strong leadership and organizational skills are a must. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in television news production and bring innovative ideas to help us adapt to a constantly changing viewer base. They should understand what it means to work within a style guide while still being open to creativity. Responsibilities :

• Read format sheets and prep network programming (prime late night etc.) for delayed playback to the specifications given.
• Identify and correct potential problems before they hit air.
• Code and switch live newscasts recorded shows and other local productions using Sony ELC.
• Oversee the overall look of the assigned show(s).
• Work closely with other production and engineering staff to facilitate changes and updates to our control room and studio systems.
• Maintain studio operations and tidiness.
• Other broadcast duties as assigned.
