Job description

Job Title : Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Database Services

Job Location : Plano, TX

Pay Rate : $60.50 $65.52 / hour on W2 only

Job Type : Contract 12 months

Job Description : Overview

Seeking a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer specializing in enterprise database services. This role ensures the availability, performance, and stability of database systems through automation, proactive monitoring, and incident prevention. This position is 100% onsite with potential contract extension.

Responsibilities

  • Apply SRE and software engineering principles to maintain and modernize enterprise database platforms.
  • Deliver database automation, incident prevention, and health monitoring.
  • Support database systems such as Oracle, Exadata, Cloud Data Warehouse, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MS SQL Server.
  • Create proactive self-healing solutions and reduce operational toil.
  • Conduct incident review, analysis, and long-term corrective action.
  • Improve platform performance, stability, and reliability using observability tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Database (11g / 12c / 19c) and Exadata administration.
  • Strong knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and Exadata features.
  • Working experience in MS SQL Server administration, clustering, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting for automation.
  • Strong understanding of SRE fundamentals including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response.
  • Experience with observability tools (Dynatrace preferred).

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Oracle Database certifications.
  • AWS Cloud certification.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
