Job Description

Intermediate Care Unit RN - NOC 12 Hours

Job Description

Temple is adding an Intermediate Care unit that will be part of the Float Pool. The role requires an ICU RN to care for patients in Med / Surg, PCU, and ICU settings, with an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 3. The RN may also float to other Stepdown and Med / Surg units within the hospital, although floating to other critical care units is unlikely.

Procedures include, but are not limited to : A-line management, Bair Hugger System, FMS Systems, IV Insulin administration, IV Infusion / Endo, managing Stable DKA, IPAP, Non-Invasive Ventilation, telemetry monitoring, and Peripheral Cath Withdrawals. The RN will assess, implement, and evaluate care needed by assigned patients under the direction of a licensed physician.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about nursing principles, theories, current practices, and techniques. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN will collaborate with patients, their families, professional peers, and other members of the healthcare team to individualize patient care, while directing nursing support staff in accordance with established nursing standards, administrative policies, and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in area of clinical specialty is preferred.
• PA or MSL Compact - Registered Nurse License is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Professional education, training, or additional certifications may be required by specialty area.

Schedule

This position involves working NOC shifts for 12 hours.
