Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a PICU RN with a current CA license, 1.5 years of recent high-acuity PICU experience, and pediatric critical care skills for a 13-week night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
Position located in a pediatric intensive care unit within a hospital settingNight shift, working four 12-hour shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00Cares for patients from birth to 18 years with complex critical needs including metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, level 1 trauma, and cardiology casesWill float to NICU and CVICU primarily, and may float to other areas as neededEvery other weekend shifts requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesUses Cerner for documentation; prior Cerner experience required or highly preferredWill provide advanced nursing care to a wide range of pediatric patients with complex and critical health needsTravelers are the first to float within the facility as neededUp to 8 hours of specialty-specific online modules required as part of orientationMaximum of 10 days RTO permitted, none allowed during the first week of the assignmentMust be able to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during assignmentPrevious return staff must have a 1 year separation before reapplying for a travel positionFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyRequirements
Active CA RN license requiredMinimum 1.5 years recent experience in a high-acuity, high-census PICU settingCurrent certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALSExperience in pediatric critical care, including skills such as arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, and ECMOMust have worked previous assignments of at least 8 weeks in similar, reputable, high-volume facilitiesLocals not accepted; must live more than 50 miles from the facilityTwo recent supervisor-level references from the PICU within the past year requiredBenefits
