Patient Account Representative
Location Fort Worth, TX | Onsite
Compensation & Schedule
- $18 / hr - $20 / hr
- 8 : 00am–5 : 00pm training; 8 : 30am–5 : 30pm post-training, Monday–Friday
- W2, Temporary (6 months)
- Start : ASAP
ROLE IMPACT
Join a leading healthcare network to ensure accurate and compliant billing across multiple service lines, including Home Health, Rehab, DME, and Infusion. This role directly impacts revenue cycle operations through account reconciliation, claims processing, and resolution of billing issues with payors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform internal audits of medical records to ensure billing compliance with state and federal guidelinesProcess electronic and paper claims for nursing, rehab, DME, and infusion servicesResearch and reconcile patient accounts; report financial and volume trends to Patient Account ManagerCommunicate with patients, insurance providers, and internal departments to resolve billing issues and secure paymentsSubmit claim reconsiderations and appeals as necessaryMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required; some college preferred1+ year medical billing or related experience in a home health setting —OR— 5 years of customer service experience1+ year experience with phone-based customer interactionKnowledge of federal / state billing regulations and commercial / Medicaid insuranceCLINICAL SKILL SET
Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billingFamiliarity with CPT / HCPCS codes and ICD-10 codingUnderstanding of benefit verification, prior authorization, and coverage guidelinesExperience with collections on medical claimsPREFERRED SKILLS
Prior work with claims appeals and resubmissionsDME billing experienceStrong interpersonal and documentation skillsLICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
