Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary :

This position is responsible for communicating shipment status and accessorial changes between the Client Logistics Team, Plant Shipping Leads, and Carrier Partners. The role also supports various logistics functions including spot quote management, TMS database updates, carrier training, and invoice auditing. The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring smooth shipment operations, maintaining data integrity, and supporting internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Source truckload capacity and organize spot quotes.

Track and trace shipments; manage updates and resolve issues in the TMS.

Communicate with carriers, plant personnel, and buyers regarding shipment status.

Train new carrier representatives on the TMS and freight audit process.

Review and resolve suspended carrier invoices and accessorial charge requests.

Maintain TMS database integrity including addresses, contact info, and load data.

Facilitate resolution of scheduling and shipment conflicts.

Escalate critical shipment issues to the Logistics Team and Managers.

Monitor and report on carrier performance metrics such as tender rejections and late deliveries.

Communicate weekly fuel surcharge updates and investigate discrepancies.

Provide TMS training and maintain SOPs for system use.

Support TMS implementation and other logistics projects as assigned.

Required Skills :

Associate s degree or 4 years of post-high school work experience.

Minimum 2 years of business analytics experience.

Minimum 2 years of freight audit experience.

Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.

Minimum 2 years of transportation or load planning experience.

Intermediate analytical skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.

Education : High School
