Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 7 PM - 7 : 30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.

Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis.

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process.

Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.

Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.

Provide direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.

Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.

Contribute positively to team dynamics and the work environment.

Assume charge responsibility as needed.

Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

BLS Certification required prior to first shift.

ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).

Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
